Pagelines 2.0 is a revolutionary way to build websites. The PageLines Platform Pro WordPress Framework was was designed around drag-and-drop functionality, making designing your WordPress-based website easier than ever.

The new Pagelines store is an innovative way to let you easily customize your website. The store lets you shop for child themes, plugins, and sections, all designed specifically for the Platform Pro Framework. For example, if you want a Launch Page, you can add the LaunchPad plugin, and instantly convert any page to a launch or squeeze page. If you want to add a Grid Portfolio page to you site, you can add that section through the store. If you want to convert your blog into an eCommerce site, you will be able to add that option through the Pagelines Store. By using child themes and plugins designed specifically for the framework, you don’t have to worry about whether they will integrate well with your existing theme, and don’t have to worry about 3rd party plugin developers discontinuing updates on their plugins.

In the past, if you wanted to build a website, your main options were to either code your site from scratch (which takes a long time, and of course requires a lot of technical knowledge and experience), use WYSIWYG Editor software (which also takes a lot of time, in addition to the time spent just learning how to use the software), or use a pre-designed WordPressTheme (which is great for many sites, but sometimes you want more design control). The Platform Pro WordPress Framework from Pagelines was designed to combine the best aspects of those 3 options. It is ‘plug-and-play’ as a theme, easy to customize as a WYSIWIG interace, and gives you the ability to quickly add custom code.

The area where Pagelines really excels is design and layout control, which gives you drag-and-drop functionality that makes building and changing your website a breeze. You can easily set the location of things like sliders, sidebars, image carousels, columns and other content areas, simply by dragging them to your preferred location.

You can use custom sets (such as categories) for Platform Post-types like boxes, features, and banners. This allows you to have completely different custom content on different pages. In Platform Pro, you can choose layouts on a page by page basis. For example, you can create some pages with two-column layouts and others with three-column.You can also choose different layouts for boxes, banners, and other sections. This is an outstanding feature that is tough to find with other WordPress themes and frameworks.

Platform Pro lets you choose from over 50 web-safe and Google fonts and change the typography throughout your site in seconds, and includes design & layout modes such as full-width, fixed-width, magazine -style and blog-style layouts. The framework includes integration with bbPress and BuddyPress, letting you easily transform your WordPress website into an online community.

Pagelines gives people with minimal technical knowledge the ability to easily create amazing  websites, as well as giving professionals the ability to develop sites faster and easier than ever before. It is an outsanding framework for people looking to design their own website templates, rather than using a WordPress theme.

Platform Pro does have a bit of a learning curve, but once you understand how to use it, and how to get the most out of it, it is an incredibly powerful and flexible WordPress theme framework, and can let you take your business or blog to another level. While it is priced higher than other frameworks, the price is well justified by the great user experience it provides.

A downside to Platform Pro is the very small amount of child themes currently available. I think the idea behind Platform Pro is that it is easy enough to create virtually any design or layout with the framework that you don’t really need to use a child theme. Getting your site up and running with Platform Pro might take a bit more time than using a pre-built theme, but the framework gives you flexibility not available in most other frameworks.

A great thing about Pagelines is that they offer a 30-day money back guarantee. If you are in any way unhappy with your purchase, you can get your money back. Also, once your a Pagelines customer, you get access to their dedicated support team of web development experts, and they offer both forum and ticketed support.

Your reviews here have been extremely helpful and I thank you. When I first found Pagelines I was super excited, but I have some reservations that perhaps you can help me with. It seems as though the big downside with PageLines is that you kind of cut yourself off from the larger WP world, because you are now reliant on PageLine plug-ins and as of now they still have so few as well as themes. It seems like many people are having trouble getting other plugins to work. Its a heafty price if that is true. Perhaps PageLines and Headway for that matter are just still too new.

I would really appreciate your thoughts though.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the comment Marcel. It’s my understanding that most 3rd-party plugins are compatible with Platform Pro. I’ve read some comments from people having issues integrating specific plugins, such as Gravitty Forms, but it seems like many people are able to use those same plugins without any issues.

As far as a lack of child themes, that’s a very valid point. PageLines seems to be focusing on Platform Pro being an easy way for people to build their own sites. I think the idea is that you can use the framework to easily create nearly any design or layout, so you wouldn’t really need a child theme. That said, there certainly are features you would need external plugins for. If you’re looking for a framework with great child themes and custom plugins, look at Genesis from StudioPress.
